ppa-purge software package provides disables a PPA and reverts to official packages, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ppa-purge
ppa-purge is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ppa-purge package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ppa-purge *
You will get with ppa-purge package name, version, architecture and description in a table
